Confirmation is celebrated in the Spring of each year, typically by teens in their junior year of high school. In accordance with the Diocesan requirements, candidates for confirmation must:
Confirmation preparation at the Immaculate Conception includes a variety of events including instructional sessions, workshops, community service, ritual and prayer experiences, attendance and participation in liturgy, a retreat and more. For an overview of the program click here.
Monday, April 19, 2010 at 7:30pm - all candidates are asked to be in the parish center by 7pm. Sponsors should be in the church, in their assigned seats by 7:15pm.
Rehearsal for Confirmation will be held on Sunday, April 18th from 12:30-2pm in the Church at Immaculate Conception. All candidates and their sponsors are expected to be in attendance at the rehearsal. If your sponsor can not attend, an adult proxy is asked to attend.
Confirmation will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception for all candidates from both Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Grace Church.
We are pleased to announce that beginning in 2009-2010 the Church of the Immaculate Conception will be combining our Confirmation Preparation Program with Our Lady of Grace in Ballston Lake. As you read through this page, please note that events followed by ICC will be physically held at the Church or Parish Center at Immaculate Conception. Events followed by OLG will be held at Our Lady of Grace, located at 73 Midline Road, Ballston Lake.
We will leave by bus from the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot on Saturday, March 20th promptly at
WHERE: Silver Bay, YMCA of the Adirondacks, Silver Bay, NY
WHO WILL BE CHAPERONING?: There will be adults attending the retreat that will be chaperoning and facilitating the experience. Most of the chaperones are Confirmation Catechists and/or Ritual Coordinators.
FEE: $100.00 - please make checks payable to the Church of the Immaculate Conception. In the event the retreat fee represents a financial hardship for your family, please contact Jillian or Christine.
WHAT IS INCLUDED: Motor coach transportation; overnight accommodations (all bedding and linens are provided), grab bag breakfast on Saturday am, 3 full buffet style meals (lunch and dinner on Saturday; breakfast on Sunday); a late-night snack on Saturday; and all necessary retreat supplies.

Please be aware, if we find that anyone has brought an illegal substance, including alcohol and/or drugs of any kind, the local authorities will be called, and your parent(s) will be asked to pick you up at the police station.

The date for Confirmation and the Rehearsal will be announced once we receive the date from the Bishop's Office.
As part of a candidates's preparation for confirmation, each candidate is expected to continue a demonstrated commitment to living as a disciple of Christ by completing community service. The minimum requirement is that each candidate complete one individual project and one group project. Candidates are asked to complete and submit a Service Report for each project they complete.
For the 2009-2010 the group project will be serving the Community Hot Meal at the Schenectady City Mission. All confirmation candidates must choose one of the below dates and sign up in advance to participate. Permission slips are required and may be downloaded by clicking the link next to the date selected.
